The renovation of the former medical practice located in the historic center of the town of Cernobbio gives life to an elegant luxury suite, defined by delicate and sophisticated notes that unfold — centimeter after centimeter — the refined and distinctive character of the historic settlements along the shores of Lake Como.
The intervention aims to change the existing use from medical practice to temporary residence — short-term rental. The central location, in close proximity to the waterfront of Cernobbio, enhances the new function of the property.
Access to the new apartment is through the private loggia overlooking the shared courtyard. The former French door, centrally positioned on the main façade of the building, is replaced by a multifunctional element, designed to open and close in different configurations, allowing for varying degrees of privacy and a dynamic relationship between interior and exterior spaces.
Internally, the apartment is primarily organized into two areas: the living area, directly connected to the external loggia, a storage hallway and the master bathroom; and the sleeping area, composed of a double bedroom and its service bathroom, also benefiting from a French door overlooking the shared courtyard.
The living area can, if necessary, be transformed into a second bedroom thanks to the opening of the sofa bed. In this configuration, the first portion of the apartment remains independent from the second, which consists of a spacious double bedroom and its service bathroom, with direct external access.
The new French door of the entrance loggia is entirely handcrafted, custom-designed and made to measure, adding value to an apartment that seeks to make the most of every opportunity to offer a high standard of living quality and spatial comfort.
The transformation of the entire unit, from both a systems and spatial perspective, has been carried out in its entirety — first stripping the building’s interior spaces back to their structural core, then renewing them through the agreed design solution. From an aesthetic and decorative standpoint, the new residence incorporates reinterpretations of elements and furnishings that were already present in the building’s previous life, now expressed through a renewed taste and style.
Suite Corti presents a fresh and refined identity, rich in detail and elegance, with a classic and distinguished character — qualities enclosed within its modest square meters.
